Synopsis
Plot
You have been kidnapped! You awaken on the ninth floor of a strange building to find that your kidnapper has left you unattended. You must try to escape from the building one floor at a time. Each floor is independent of the others. You cannot carry items from one floor to another and you cannot return to a previous floor. Everything you need to escape from a given floor can be found on that floor! This makes you feel like you're playing nine mini-Adventures rather than one big Adventure.
Notes
This adventure was originally written for the TRS-80 by Peter Kirsch and published in
SoftSide, vol. 3, no. 3, December 1980, pp. 52-56. It was subsequently ported to the Apple II, by Carl Mueller, and the Atari 400/800, by Rich Bouchard and Alan J. Zett. Both versions were published in
SoftSide, vol. 4, no. 10, July 1981, pp. 34–45, with Apple and Atari corrections published in
SoftSide, vol. 4, no. 11, August 1981, p. 22 and vol. 5, no. 3, December 1981, p. 83.
It was (probably unofficially) published by Keypunch Software and placed on an Atari 400/800 compilation disk called 'Dungeons of Despair', along with 'Alaskan Adventure' and 'Escape from the Dungeon of the Gods'.
The game was unofficially ported to the Commodore PET by D. McWilliams and subsequently ported to the Commodore 64
