Synopsis

Plot

Escape the Colditz prisoner-of-war facility by assembling the necessary equipment and making a successful escape without being found out and sentenced to death by firing squad.

Notes

Colditz was a real WWII facility, and there are similarly-themed games on several other platforms, as well as a board game, but this version appears to be unique.

There are actually two versions of this type-in BASIC game floating around the Internet. The 1982 "SYSTEM 80" version with "KEYED IN BY P. KNOTT" on the title screen is miscredited (it retains an internal reference to S. Wilkinson, 1981) and is not solvable due to a typing error. The 1981 "TRS-80" version crediting the actual author as "* BY STUART WILKINSON *" appears to be more accurate and can be finished.

Both versions share a bug preventing one of the two available escape routes from working as intended - the attempt is always fatal, so the player is better off with the 50% chance of success afforded by the other one.
