Synopsis
Plot
In a world based on Douglas Adams' classic novel your challenge is to collect five artefacts and take them to the public bar.Notes
Released "by kind permission of Douglas Adams and Pan Books", as author Bob Chappell had sought and obtained permission from the publisher Pan Books for the original PET version of his game.After the release of the adventure for other platforms, when Adams was working on his own computer game, legal action was threatened and the Supersoft title was withdrawn from sale, only to return as the legal friendly Cosmic Capers. Supersoft published the game on the PET and C64. Estuary produced the Spectrum port and also an Apple II disk version. An Oric 48K version is listed as "coming soon" in various ESP (Estuary) adverts.
The game was ported to the Atari 400/800/XL/XE by Kevin Casey in 1982. It's not clear if this was an official release.
There is a version of the game available for Microbee, listed here. It's not currently known if this was an official release.
The BBC Micro adventure Hitch Hiker blatantly uses a lot of the same structure and concepts as Bob Chappell's original.
The original game is available in German.

Seeing how awful this game was, I'm impressed that anyone felt the need to remake it.
The "Good Old Days" link seems to be for the Infocom game, not this one.

Very crude and tedious to play. The Spectrum version is also quite buggy, but at least can be completed.
