Synopsis

Plot

You're a detective. You traced a notorious hitman and have just shot him in a seedy hotel room. Will he give you the lead you've been waitng for?

Notes

The game takes a tongue-in-cheek approach to the detective genre, and the text is often quite humourous. Sudden death situations are everywhere.

Most items can be (mis)used in many ways, so careful planning of your inventory is needed.
The game was parodied in Marmelade.

The better know illustrated version of this game dates from 1983. There is an earlier text-only version of the game used the title Mission in Madness which seems to be from 1982 but its publication history is unclear.

A additional "1982" version of this game, for the Apple II, has been discovered entitled Madsquerade which features different graphics to the later 1983 illustrated version.
