Wishbringer is the tale of a lowly postal clerk in the seaside village of Festeron. Instructed by your oppressive boss to deliver an envelope to the magic shop across town, you discover that the cat belonging to the magic shop's owner has been kidnapped. Unless the stone Wishbringer is offered as ransom, the cat will surely perish! Your mission is to vanquish the evil and restore the town to its peaceful state.
Agreed. I particularly liked the small mailbox that followed you around. Some really nice puzzles, too. Being able to solve an actual Infocom game without too much hassle always made me feel good about myself ;)
Magical, in more than one sense. The design is full of brilliant touches and details well worth exploring. The narrative flow is delivered in a seamless way that was later much imitated, but rarely achieved.
Very easy, but so, so charming and enjoyable.

And let's not forget that it was meant for beginners. Good to see that - unlike, e.g., Seastalker - Infocom could write a good beginner's game.
