Enchanter trilogy [1: Enchanter, 2: Sorcerer, 3: Spellbreaker]
Entered by:

In this first game of the Enchanter trilogy, you start as a fledgling necromancer. An evil warlock, Krill, has taken over the land, and the Circle of Enchanters has convened to try to thwart the dark power. As Krill would undoubtedly notice, and dispatch, any experienced conjurer that came to defeat him, the only solution is to send an inexperienced trainee to sneak up on him. You are called before the Circle and sent on your mission. If you succeed, you will be granted a place at the Circle, but if you fail...

Initially intended as a sequel to Zork III, this became the beginning of its own trilogy. However, it still takes place in the Zork universe.
Also available in Japanese.

The weakest of Infocom's magical trilogy, but still not bad.

It makes for a nice introduction to this universe, though (to the extent that this isn't just taken an yet another Zork game). But a little too easy, perhaps.

Jacob, most of it may be easy but the method employed to gain the knife is usually something you would never think of doing. (I hope that is not too much of a spoiler.)

No, it doesn't spoil - and you're absolutely right :)

Not the most challenging, but still a lot of fun

The Translucent Room - one of my favourite puzzles out of all the games I have played.

Excellent design. Despite being of the "timed task" type, the immersive quality is strong and the clever spell system allows for some original and top-tier puzzles. A joy to play; its only drawback is that it feels a bit short.
