Solon the Master Wizard has learnt of Vileroth's destruction and how, in his final days, he concealed the stolen 13 stars of Power within the Castle of Claymorgue, determined that no one should possess them.
As Solon's apprentice with a few spells, can you recover Solon's stolen Stars. The Castle contains further spells but beware -- as an apprentice you may find the results unpredictable!

A tough game with a lot of trial-and-error required to find the exact place and sequence needed to carry out certain actions. This is tolerable when using an emulator and snapshots, it may not be so bearable when using the real computer and saving to tape.
A classic example of well thought out design: you have to sequence almost the whole game as a single puzzle, because individual problems can be solved in more than one way, but most of them will block the player later from completing others. Takes a long time to sort out despite being very compact and short on rooms. Even if tricky and slightly unfair, SoCC is a true test for veteran adventurers. Guaranteed to frustrate and delight in equal measure. Perhaps my favourite from the Adams factory.
